Our Video, Keyboard, Mouse and Audio over Cat5 UTP products are designed to give you a low cost and easy way of KVM and Audio extension for installs that require long distances. Local ports for connection of a keyboard, mouse , audio, and LCDs are provided on the unit so you can access the PC from 2 locations.
These products find widespread use in situation where the user's workstation need to be far from the PC, or a remote access point is also needed besides the KVM by the PC.
The units are 100% hardware based, so there is no software to install. In fact the PC is unaware that there are 2 user stations!
These products will transmit high resolution video up to 1600 x 1200 at distances up to 500 feet on Cat5, 5e, or 6 unshielded twisted pair cable. Hall Research also offers Dual Video Head extension.
For optimum performance we recommend using Zero-Skew Cat5 cable. You can also utilize our skew corrector if you are experiencing a skew related issue and can not pull Zero Skew cable.
